Steve Bell has a knack for capturing sunrises at the beach. Each of these photos does a wonderful job capturing the incredible light and color of the sunrise. If you enjoy these photos, you can buy prints of his work at RedBubble.

The following photos are part of Pictory Magazine's Overseas and Overwhelmed story. Each photo represents a time when the picture taker was experiencing culture shock in a foreign land, and is accompanied by great stories that explain the photos. Below, you'll find some of my favorites.
Bright Lights, Ancient City by Matt Nuzzaco - Matt Nuzzco's photo features an alleyway in Orvieto, Italy where he contemplates the age and character on a town that "predates the Roman Empire".
Vivid Dreams by Kevin Meredith - In this photo, Meredith captures a sleeping carpet salesman in Marrakesh, Morocco among a sea of agressive salesman.
For the Win by Michael O'Neal - O'Neal took this photo in the ancient Mayan city of Tulum,Mexico where the children stopped for a minute to stare at him before resuming their game.
Eaten Alive by Juliette Melton - This photo has a truly shocking story. Juliette's fish dish above was caught from a tank right next to the table. It was then prepared into sashimi with the half alive fish sitting along side the meal.
London Calling by Tom Watson - Tom Watson's photo of London captures most of the distinctive icons of the city.
In Living Color by Adam Rose - While visiting India, Adam Rose faced the blunt realities of the country. He saw some surprising scenes including this one in the city of Pushkar,India.
If you enjoyed these photos and short accompanying descriptions, I highly recommend reading all the stories at Pictory Magazine.
This is a cool project by photographer Michael Wesley entitled Open Shutter Projekt was created from exposures over a three year period from 2001-2004. It shows the changes that have taken place in New York and Berlin over that time.
Hayaku: A Time Lapse Journey Through Japan from Brad Kremer on Vimeo.
Some absolutely breath-taking photography/video footage of Japan by Brad Kremer. It really makes me want to get an HD DSLR.
This is a really great aerial photo series of New York by the Denver Post. The photos are by Daniel Acker. Stan Honda and Mario Tama.
On a pevious post you'll remember Joseph Holmes capturing these taxis lined up along West Forty-third Street in New York. This time, Holmes found a lone woman in a yellow dress walking along West Nineteenth Street. The following quote is him describing his fortune in capturing this photo,"One day the woman in the yellow dress steps into my frame to humble me and remind me that all I can do is accept the gift when it's offered."
You can also find this photo in print form at 20x200.
Although this photo may never be mistaken for a professional's, that doesn't mean it isn't great. It's one of those pictures that makes you nostalgic for your childhood and reminds you of the simple joys in life.
Here is freddog's explanation of the photo,"This was during a remodel of our room when we had the bed in the living room. Needless to say, the couch and bed closeness was cause for mid-air pictures."
This photo won Tumblr/Photojojo's Daily Pic Pick.
This photo by Naiara Dambroso or autom4tica on Flickr is an example of perfectly capturing someone in the moment. It's one of those photos that seems to capture the essence of a person.
This wonderful shot by Joseph Holmes is one of those rare occurrences that you just can't plan in photography, where everything lines up just right and you happen to be a witness.
This is how he explains it,"I look through the viewfinder one day and all the yellow taxis appear out of nowhere to line up in a tidy curve, and I shake my head and thank the muses and the gods of chaos and chance."
If you want to get this photo as a print, get them here, but hurry because they're going fast.
